What are my dental sedation options?
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a simple sedation option delivered through a small mask placed over the nose. After breathing the gas for a few minutes, many patients experience a calming sensation and feel less aware of pressure or discomfort. Because it wears off quickly, most patients can drive themselves to and from their appointment without needing assistance.

General Anesthesia
General anesthesia is administered by a qualified anesthesia specialist when appropriate. Patients are fully unconscious during treatment and typically have no memory of the procedure, allowing for a completely comfortable experience.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation provides a deeper level of relaxation and can help patients feel calm throughout their appointment. Medication is provided before treatment, and many patients have little or limited memory of the procedure afterward.
IV Sedation
IV sedation allows medication levels to be adjusted quickly and precisely based on each patient’s needs. Patients will need someone to drive them to and from the appointment. A small pinch is felt when the IV is placed, followed by a deeply relaxed or sleep-like state, with little or no memory of the procedure afterward. Suitability depends on your health and medical history.
Is dental sedation safe?

Your dental team will explain your specific aftercare instructions and let you know when it is safe to resume normal activities.
